The RK Group of College’s annual sports and cultural event property “Galore’11” organized between February 17-19, 2011 ended with much fan fare and hoopla in presence of noted academicians, industry professionals, faculty, staff and students of RK Family.

The closing ceremony held on 19th Feb, 2011 witnessed the presence of some noted academicians like Prof. Agola, Zonal Officer, Rajkot Zone, GTU, Dr. D K Shah, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Saurashtra University, Mr. Khodidasbhai Patel, Chairman, RK Group of Colleges, Mr. Ranchodhbhai Mangrolia, Vice-Chairman, RK Group of Colleges, Mr. Denish Patel, Trustee & Academic-Director,RKU, Mr. Bhagwanjibhai Patel, Trustee, SHTC Trust, Mr. Mahendrabhai Patel, SHTC Trust, Mr. Mohit Patel, Director – Strategic Initiatives, RKU, Mr. Shivlal Ramani, Admin-Director, RKU, Dr. Ramamohana Rao, Principal, Engineering College, Dr. C D Sankhavara,Dean, Engineering College, Dr. Priyanshu Rathod, Principal, Physiotherapy College, Dr. T R Desai, Principal, Pharmacy College, Prof. S. Narsiyan, Principal, Diploma Engineering College etc

The function started with lighting of the lamp by Prof. Agola, Dr. D K Shah, Mr. Denish Patel followed by a prayer dance performed by the students of Diploma Engineering.

The event was then followed by series of awards for the winner and runners – up students in games like chess, table tennis, badminton, carrom, volleyball, cricket, Rangoli competition, Poster and Elocution Competition. The noting point of the award ceremony was honouring the students with books, certificates, shield and cash prize who secured top position in the qualifying exams by Saurashtra University. The students securing first position were rewarded `2000/-, students securing second position were rewarded `1500/- and students securing positions between 3-10 were rewarded with `1000/- each. The other categories in the awards included Best Attendance Award, Student of the Year Award and Best College of the Year Award.

Speaking on this occasion Mr. Khodidasbhai Patel said. “RK Group of Colleges has always tried to provide various platforms to students for their overall development from time to time and thereby contributing to the society. It is now up to the youth to imbibe the cultural and social values”.

Even in future, if there are any such chances students must participate and the management will surely support and give full cooperation wherever desired. The zeal with which the staff members came together to make this event successful reflects the team work at RK University, and through this team work we will scale new heights in near future” quoted Mr. Denish Patel, Academic – Director, RKU, praising and congratulating the efforts of Event – Head, the staff of RKU and students whose combined efforts saw ‘Galore’11’ a mega success.

During this three day event indoor and outdoor sports activities, Rangoli & Poster competition, Elocution competition, were organized in morning whereas, from 6 pm to 9 pm cultural program was organized.
